§ 19-2. Hours of operations.

  • (a)

    All parks and playgrounds acquired and maintained by the city shall be closed to the public from thirty (30) minutes after the official sunset time until the official sunrise time of the following day, and it shall be unlawful for any person to enter or be found in said parks between such hours, except for games scheduled in conjunction with organized sports leagues, and other scheduled events sponsored by an authorized organization (example 501c3 organizations).

    (b)

    It shall be a violation of this article for any person to remain, stay, or loiter in any public park during any period of time during which such park is closed, except by special permit issued by the city administrator, city secretary, or the city council.

    (c)

    Any person who violates any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each and every violation and day the violation is allowed to continue.
