§ 5-16. Definitions.

For the purpose of this article the following terms shall have the meanings indicated in this section. No attempt is made to define ordinary words which are used in accordance with their established dictionary meaning, except where the word has been loosely used and it is necessary to define its meaning as used in this article to avoid misunderstanding. Because the primary purpose is to define terms rather than words, the definitions are arranged alphabetically according to the first word of the term rather than the noun. For convenience the nouns are also listed by cross reference is made to the term.

Construction: The term "construction," as used herein, shall include not only construction of a building from the ground up, including foundation, framing, roofing, installation of windows and doors, installation of sheetrock, but also shall include alterations and moving and demolition.

Builder: "Builder," as used herein, shall not only include individuals but shall include partnerships, corporations, and any business employing one or more individuals who shall perform construction as defined herein.
