§ 7-13. Wiring encased in metal raceways; where required.

  • All installations hereafter installed within the fire districts of the city as defined by the city building code, and all installations made in public buildings, churches, schools, theaters, skating rinks, halls for dancing or entertainment, hotels, motels, apartment buildings of more than two (2) dwelling units, hospitals, asylums, gasoline service stations, warehouses, stores, and business buildings of all kinds, including but not limited to, all retail, wholesale, industrial and manufacturing establishments, buildings of residences, or business buildings, and all buildings subject to excess moisture and gases, all grain elevators and buildings where hay or grain is stored or kept, shall have all wiring encased in metal raceways. Nonmetallic sheathed cable as defined in the National Electrical Code may be used only for branch circuit wiring in multifamily dwelling structures of three (3) or more units, when such units are located outside of the fire districts of the city and when such multifamily dwelling structures are either frame or of standard brick veneer construction.
