§ 22-26. Definitions.

  • For the purposes of this article, the following words shall have the scope and meaning hereinafter defined and set out in connection with each:

    City street shall mean any public street located within the boundaries of the city, that is maintained by the city.

    Excavation shall include both the singular and plural, and shall mean and include any act by which soil, earth, clay, sand, gravel, rock, loam, caliche, dirt, humus or any other similar matter is dug, cut into, quarried, uncovered, removed, displaced, relocated or bulldozed over six (6) inches in depth in the earth.

    Soil shall mean and include any earth, sand, clay, loam, caliche, gravel, humus, rock, dirt or any other matter in or upon the ground, without regard to the presence or absence therein of minerals or other organic matter.
