§ 5-17.1. Amendments.

  • [The Standard Building Code, adopted in section 5-17, is amended as follows:]

    Section 1301 of the Standard Building Code is hereby amended by adding the following:

    1301.1.a. Permit required for trenching and excavation. Any person, firm, or corporation, who shall excavate in the earth to a depth greater than five (5) feet in the City of Henrietta or its extraterritorial jurisdiction, shall make application for permit to the city clerk. Any construction requiring trenching or excavation in excess of five (5) feet in depth shall meet or exceed minimum Occupational Safety and Health Administration (O.S.H.A.) requirements as identified in CFR, Part 1926, Subpart p, as amended. Any plans submitted for such excavation or trenching must include specifications that are in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements (29 CFR 1926, Subpart P, as amended).

    Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2004-A is hereby replaced to read as follows:

    4.1.1. All construction hereafter within the corporate limits of the City of Henrietta shall be done in accordance with and in compliance with the Standard Building Code (2000 International Code) or in their most recent edition, a copy of which is on file in the office of Henrietta, Texas, and is hereby incorporated by reference herein and made part of this ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
