§ 5-59. Certificate of acceptance.

  • (a)

    When the work referred to in section 5-58 shall have been finally inspected and approved by the inspector he shall issue a certificate of acceptance to the plumber to be delivered to the owner.

    (b)

    No new plumbing, nor old plumbing changed, repaired or added to, shall be put to the ordinary use until a certificate of acceptance thereof has been issued by the plumbing inspector.

    (c)

    Connection with the sanitary sewer system or with the waterworks system in the city shall not be allowed or permitted under any circumstances unless and until the plumbing work in connection therewith shall have been duly inspected and accepted and treated by the plumbing inspector as herein provided.

    (d)

    No worker or agent in charge of any premises who shall receive written notice from the plumbing inspector that the plumbing therein is being improperly or unlawfully constructed or is out of repair or is defectively done, shall continue the construction or use of such plumbing, but shall at once make all necessary changes and repairs to conform to the provisions of this article.

    (e)

    When plumbing is installed in a building where no sewer connection is available it shall conform to the requirement of this article the same as plumbing connected to a sewer. Disposal of such sewage shall be provided in such a manner approved by the administrative authority.
