§ 5-26. Registration and bonding of builders and authorized persons.

(a)

All builders, building movers and all firms authorizing persons and all such authorized persons doing work in the city shall be registered in the office of the building inspector of the city.

(b)

The term of registration shall be from January first to December thirty-first of each year.

(c)

Each builder, building mover or authorized person shall furnish a performance bond in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) to the city payable to the city, to secure the proper completion of all work such person is authorized to do in the city. No person, a builder or a person being authorized shall be granted a permit for any work unless he has such a bond in full force and effect, except that a person requesting a permit for construction upon his own property shall not be required to file a bond.
